Some Pointers for Chat

The built in chat system for duel-arena.secretstories.org utilizes Chatwee. It is a versatile system that has been suiting our needs well.

When you first join the chat, you will be assigned a random name. You can hit the button at the bottom of the chat window to change this name, or you can use that button to log out and  register an account for chat. You will need to register separately for the web site and the chat.

Once you get in you can customize the chat window in a variety of ways. I go with something like this:



Ignore the strange resolution, my monitor blew up and I'm using a temporary one, but you get the idea. Also be aware that when shrinking the browser window around the chat window as shown you will not be able to see private messages until you stretch the window back out.

You can post (appropriate please) images and videos into the chatroom by posting the urls to them. In the case of images, I use https://imgur.com/ , It is free and doesn't require signup. Several similar services are available.

Not sure what you mean, the image in my post? You may have seen a previous version of it before I edited it to fit. It displays ok here for me now.

Edit: But it may look strange because this weird temporary monitor I am using runs at 1280 x 1024.
